Review of The Creative Process in the "Monochrome" Series Paintings By Dadang Rukmana: Wallas Theory Perspective. This research examines Dadang Rukmana's creative process in creating monochrome painting series using the perspective of Wallas's four-stage creative process theory. The monochrome beach landscape visual form with scraping technique that produces a realistic impression becomes the focus of study to understand how each stage of creative process preparation, incubation, illumination, and verification manifests in Dadang Rukmana's work. Data collection was conducted through direct observation of artworks, in-depth interviews with the artist, documentation at the studio, and literature study. The research results show: (1) The preparation stage began from inspiration of a drawing in Pramoedya Ananta Toer's book and field research at Gua Cina Beach; (2) The incubation stage lasted during a two-year spiritual journey that brought the artist to contemplation about loneliness and God's presence; (3) The illumination stage occurred when the artist discovered the concept of visualizing vast and deserted beach as a metaphor for loneliness accompanied by the Creator; (4) The verification stage was realized through execution of scraping technique with wall acrylic paint on canvas, producing realistic monochromatic paintings with high artistic value. Research findings indicate that Dadang's creative process is not linear but with dynamic interaction between phases, as well as technical transformation from hyperrealistic portraits to monochromatic landscapes as a form of visual spirituality exploration.
