Description

The dataset contains the raw field observations of flower-visiting insects recorded in two commercial mango orchards in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia, during the 2019 and 2021 flowering seasons. Observations were conducted before insecticide application and at 1, 3 and 10 days after application at three distances (0, 50 and 100 m) from the crop border adjacent to native vegetation. Six marked mango trees were sampled at each distance in each orchard. The dataset includes observations from orchards receiving commercial applications of dimethoate or methomyl, along with year, sampling interval, distance, tree identity, insect taxa, total flower visitor abundance, morphospecies richness and diversity-related variables used in the analyses. These data support the statistical analyses and figures presented in the manuscript.
