Description

Physicochemical properties and concentrations of five heavy/trace metals (Pb, Cd, Zn, Cr, Mn) and Fe in 68 surface soils sampled at ~10-km intervals along a 661-km transect from Amsaad to Ajdabiya in northeastern Libya (Barqa/Cyrenaica coastal corridor). Each station was analysed in triplicate by ICP-OES, with quality control verified against a certified reference material (NIST SRM 2711a). The dataset includes station-level means, individual triplicate raw values, descriptive statistics, statistical thresholds, geoaccumulation index (Igeo) and enrichment factor (EF) calculations per station, correlation matrices (Pearson and Spearman), PCA loadings, instrument calibration records, and digestion protocol details. This dataset supports the manuscript "Regional Geochemical Patterns of Heavy Metals along a 661-km Soil Transect in Northeastern Libya: Evidence of Widespread Cadmium Enrichment."
