Onyx embolisation safety profile in a Tertiary Care Centre, United Kingdom
Description
We aim to analyze the safety profile of Onyx (an embolic agent) in Interventional Radiology (IR) as well as suggest time-to-intervention guidelines in extra-cranial acute bleeding. We analyzed outcomes of all patients who underwent embolisation using Onyx in the Interventional Radiology department in a tertiary care center from May 2015 - May 2020. Onyx has a good safety profile compared to conventional embolic agents, supporting its use in IR. In the absence of international guidelines, we recommended local time-to-intervention guidelines in the absence of national or IR society guidelines.
