Redemption Methods and Availability Data in the United States
Description
This dataset compiles publicly available information about sweepstakes-based digital platforms operating in the United States, with a focus on payment methods, identity verification requirements, redemption processes and geographic availability. The data was collected through manual review of publicly available platform information, terms and conditions, payment documentation, help-centre materials and other relevant sources. Individual records may include information about supported payment options, verification procedures, redemption requirements, operational restrictions and the date on which the information was reviewed. The dataset is intended for research, comparison and consumer-information purposes. It should not be interpreted as legal, financial or gambling advice. Platform policies, payment methods, verification requirements and state-level availability can change over time, so each record should be considered together with its review date. The data was compiled through independent research conducted in connection with the SweepsPulse project. Where possible, information was cross-checked against publicly available platform documentation. Limitations include changes made by platforms after the recorded review date, regional differences, incomplete public documentation and account-specific verification requirements.

Steps to reproduce
To reproduce the dataset, identify the same sweepstakes-based platforms included in the original sample and review each platform using publicly available information. Check the official website, terms and conditions, payment or banking pages, help-centre documentation, identity verification requirements, redemption information and geographic availability statements. Record the available payment methods, verification requirements, redemption conditions, relevant restrictions and the date of review using the same variable definitions applied in the dataset. Where information appears inconsistent or incomplete, compare multiple official pages from the same platform before recording the result. Because platform policies, payment options, verification procedures and state availability may change over time, reproduced results should include a new review date. Differences between the original dataset and a later reproduction should therefore be treated as potential platform changes rather than automatically as data errors. The dataset was compiled manually from publicly accessible information and does not require proprietary software, private accounts or automated data collection to reproduce the research process.
