Complex Emotion Recognition in Neurological and Neurodevelopmental Conditions Dataset
Description
This dataset contains the results of a clinical validation study using the Cognition of Social Interaction in Movies screening tool (COSIMO; https://cosimo-project.com) for participants with temporal lobe epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and healthy participants. Participants completed the test online, either at their own leisure or during a routine neuropsychological assessment. The data has been cleaned and any potentially identifying information removed. We anticipated that all groups, including healthy participants aged 65 and older, would score significantly lower than healthy controls. A peer-reviewed publication of the results is pending, but a preprint can be found at https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.64898/2025.11.26.25341046v2.

Steps to reproduce
Please contact us for access to the https://cosimo-project.com app for any reproduction studies. This can be done via the contact form on the website. Participants were given the instructions outlined on the website. Online participants additionally completed a questionnaire. The data included in this dataset has undergone a cleaning process where all participants have been added to the relevant clinical group based on other variables. More detailed questionnaire responses and date of participation have been removed to ensure anonymity. If the full extraction method is needed for the purpose of a replication study, we can provide this upon reasonable request.
