Description

Kestrel 5400 heat stress tracker data. See Curtis et al. (2025) for more information. The handheld instruments are portable, rugged, and calculate WBGT with direct measurements of wind speed, temperature, globe temperature, relative humidity, and pressure. The Kestrel manual reports accuracy as ±0.7°C and suggests that WBGT could be abnormally high if no wind is present because air temperature is measured in direct sunlight.
