Description

This dataset comprises survey data on indoor soundscape perception collected from individuals working from home in 37 major cities across China during the lockdown period imposed by COVID-19. The data encompasses responses from 247 participants and covers their feedback on the perceived prominence of various sounds, attributes of indoor soundscape perception, evaluations of soundscape appropriateness, and housing and individual factors (such as residential floor, number of cohabitants, noise sensitivity, education level, etc.) under different home-based conditions, specifically working from home and leisure activities at home. This dataset allows for a comparison of the consistency and heterogeneity in the perception of indoor soundscapes and evaluations of soundscape appropriateness among individuals working from home during work-related and leisure activities within residential settings. This is expected to deepen the understanding of the acoustic requirements for different home-based activities, thereby providing a scientific basis for optimising residential acoustic environment design and enhancing residents' well-being.
