Description

The present dataset includes raw and processed electricity consumption and meteorological data. Electricity demand belongs to the records of the National Interconnected System (SIN) of Paraguay, measured in megawatts (MW) and provided by the National Electricity Administration (ANDE). Weather data were acquired through the Global Data Assimilation System (GDAS), which contains the following variables: air temperature at 2 meters above the ground (Celsius), relative humidity at 2 meters above the ground (%), surface pressure (Pa), total precipitation over six hours (mm), eastward wind speed at 10 meters above ground (m/s), and northward wind speed at 10 meters above ground (m/s). The data corresponding to holidays in Paraguay are also attached. The processed data (data not suffixed with “-raw”) has an hourly granularity and cover from January 2008 to December 2022, with a total of 131,481 records each. The timestamp of the processed data follows the ISO 8601 format with the Paraguay time zone. It should be noted that, due to the daylight saving time change, the 00:00 timestamp is omitted on the day of the time change, so the data jumps directly from 23:00 of the preceding day to 01:00 of the following day. This dataset is suitable for use in the application and experimentation of mathematical modelling, machine learning and deep learning. In the field of time series, it can be used for prediction problems, clustering, classification, and so forth.
