Observed Lichen Genera and measured Air Quality Parameters across four major cities in Nigeria

Description

Data were gathered from field-recorded measurements. The following parameters were collected I. Coordinates of Observation II. Altitude III. Lichen Genus Identified IV. Ambient Concentration of - PM2.5, PM10, NO2, SO2 (microgram/cubic metre) The following were computed variables from the field data I. Relative Air Quality Guidance Level for each air quality parameter II. Air Quality Index for each parameter III. Combined Air Quality Index The computed values were based on WHO Air Quality Guidelines (https://www.who.int/news-room/feature-stories/detail/what-are-the-who-air-quality-guidelines). Thus, 15, 45, 25 and 40 microgram/cubic metre were the standard levels for PM2.5, PM10, No2 and SO2 respectively. The data provides opportunities to train machine learning models to identify associations between lichen genera and air quality parameters. Thereby, supporting air quality monitoring in data-sparse regions.
