In this study, the research subjects were college admissions officers of NACAC-member colleges and universities. Access to the NACAC member database requires membership to the National Association for College Admission Counseling; however, the contact information is publicly accessible and voluntarily provided by individual NACAC members for the purpose of communication and collaboration. The NACAC Account Log in requires the user to input their email and password to access the member dashboard. The left side of the account holder’s dashboard includes tabs to various parts of the site including but not limited to Exhibits, Areas of Interest, and Member Directory. The Member Directory tab is the last icon down the left side of the landing page. Once selected, a new Search Member Directory page will populate with blank boxes to enter various filters either by manual text entry or drop-down menu options. This researcher utilized these filters to narrow the scope of the member list to reflect the following criteria—Individual Category: Postsecondary College/University; Country: United States; State: individually created 51 specialized searches for each of the 50 states and Washington, D.C.; Organization/Institution Category: Postsecondary College/University; 2/4 Year: 4. This researcher had the option to filter by Public or Private colleges; however this filter was not selected in order to maximize the response results to both school types. Search results were automatically capped at 10 entries per page, in last name alphabetical order, with a maximum of 30 pages for 300 total member contacts accessible per state. This will result in a fewer percentage of college admissions personnel accessed from larger states (i.e., California, Michigan, Wisconsin) versus smaller states (i.e., 15 total employees in Wyoming). This will create a bias in larger states which favors college admissions personnel with last names higher in the alphabetical list before the cut-off. Publicly accessible information for each contact includes their full name, job title, account mailing address of their college/university, account phone number, professional email address, name of the school, and whether the school is categorized as public or private. This researcher copied the full name and professional email address of 11,732 total contacts from 51-member database searches into a protected Microsoft Office document only accessible by the Principal Investigator utilizing their Lynn University email address. All individual contact information will be destroyed following the closing date of the survey. Assuming that the proposed survey window of June-September 2025 (12 weeks) is approved and utilized, the closing date of the survey window will be September 30, 2025.
