Observational and historical dataset of hydrological and biogeochemical parameters in the China marginal seas across different seasons

Description

This data includes two Excel files. One is the database on hydrological and biogeochemical parameters of the Jiulong River Estuary (JRE), Yangtze River Estuary (YRE), and Pearl River Estuary (PRE) across different seasons. The dataset includes water depth, bottom water temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen (DO) concentration, nitrate+nitrite (NOx-) concentration, ammonium (NH4+) concentration, surface and bottom water chlorophyll a (Chl a) concentrations; surface sediment total organic carbon (TOC) and total nitrogen (TN) contents, carbon-to-nitrogen ratio (C/N), porosity; pore water NOx- and NH4+ concentrations in the surface sediment; as well as the diffusive boundary layer (DBL) thickness, oxygen penetration depth (OPD), diffusive oxygen uptake (DOU) rate, and total oxygen uptake (TOU) rate at the sediment-water interface. Mean values and standard deviations are shown in bold italic blue; blank cells indicate missing data. The other one is historical dataset of hydrological and biogeochemical parameters in the Bohai sea/Yellow Sea (BS-YS), Yellow Sea/East China Sea (YS-ECS), and the Yangtze River Estuary (YRE) and Pearl River Estuary (PRE) across different seasons. The dataset includes station location (latitude and longitude), water depth, bottom water temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen (DO) concentration, nitrate+nitrite (NOx-) concentration, bottom water chlorophyll a (Chl a) concentration, and water-column-integrated Chl a concentration; surface sediment total organic carbon (TOC) and total nitrogen (TN) contents, carbon-to-nitrogen ratio (C/N), and porosity; as well as oxygen penetration depth (OPD), diffusive oxygen uptake (DOU) rate, and total oxygen uptake (TOU) rate at sediment-water interface. Blank cells indicate missing data.
