The study data set includes three soils using cation exchange resin (CER) methods to extract soil EPS content, intracellular and extracellular pollution, and optical properties. The aim of this study was to construct and optimize the extraction and quantitative analysis method of soil EPS. The extraction method of soil EPS by CER was taken as the research object, and the influence of different CER addition amount and extraction time on the extraction effect of EPS components and intracellular and extracellular pollution was characterized to further clarify the optimal extraction conditions of soil EPS by CER.
