Description

This data was collected for an Assignment for the ANZAC-Australians at War Unit with Macquarie University in 2017/18. It is a sampling of World War 1 Soldiers listed on the Honour Roll for the Shire of Dandenong (now the City of Greater Dandenong) and the data used to calculate various aspects of Australian national statistics against those from the Shire of Dandenong at the time of World War 1.

Steps to reproduce

The Shire of Dandenong names from the WWI Honour Roll list for the project were collected using the following sampling method to give a good database cross mix of the 61 names: • Served - Every 11th Name • Died – Every 3rd Name Data for the Dataset was gathered from the following sources: The Dandenong & District Historical Society The AIF project The Australian War Memorial National Archives
