Microwave_Infrared_Ultrasound_Effects_on_Grain_Quality_and_Insect_Mortality_of_Grany_Weevil
Description
This dataset contains experimental data on the effects of microwave (MW), infrared (IR), and ultrasound (US) treatments on grain quality characteristics and the mortality of granary weevil (*Sitophilus granarius*). The dataset includes experiments conducted on different grain samples under varying treatment intensities and exposure times, with replicate measurements for each experimental condition. The Excel workbook is organized into three worksheets corresponding to microwave, infrared, and ultrasound treatments. Recorded variables include treatment type, grain type, treatment factor/intensity, exposure time, replicate number, initial and dry sample mass, moisture content, initial number of insects, number of dead insects, and insect mortality. The dataset also contains measurements related to grain quality and treatment responses. Moisture content was calculated from initial and dry sample masses, while insect mortality was determined from the initial number of insects and the number of dead insects. The data allow comparison of the effectiveness of microwave, infrared, and ultrasound treatments in controlling granary weevil infestation while evaluating their effects on grain quality. This dataset can be used for statistical analysis, comparison of non-chemical insect-control technologies, evaluation of treatment intensity and exposure-time effects, and assessment of relationships between insect mortality and grain quality parameters. The data are provided in Microsoft Excel (.xlsx) format.
