Description

Participants utilizing needle exchange services in Chicago, USA, (n=56) completed questionnaires about skin swabbing and recent SSTI. A pre- and post-test design was used to compare differences in skin swabbing attitudes and behaviors before and 2 weeks after a brief educational intervention. Randomization to chlorhexidine swabs or isopropyl alcohol-only swabs was used to compare differences in swab acceptability and ease of use after 2 weeks.
