Description

This repository contains configuration files and ancillary data necessary to replicate the numerical simulations described in the manuscript "The Interplay of Vegetation and Land-Atmosphere Feedbacks in Flash Drought Prediction" submitted for publication to the Journal of Hydrometeorology. It includes the necessary files to set up and run the NU-WRF model as implemented in this study. Preprint available at: https://doi.org/10.31223/X5HH9N *CLIM/: This directory contains the configuration files specific to the climatological vegetation experiment setup. *IVAR/: This directory contains the configuration files specific to the interannually-varying vegetation experiment setup. The file structure and contents are identical to the `CLIM/` directory. *LIS_RST_NOAHMP401_201012312330_SPINUP_40YR.nc: The initial condition file for the coupled NU-WRF/LIS simulations. It represents the spun-up land surface state after a 40-year offline LIS simulation. *namelist.wps: The namelist file for the WRF Pre-Processing System (WPS). It defines the settings for geogrid, ungrib, and metgrid, which are used to prepare the meteorological input data for NU-WRF. *namelist.input: The main namelist file for the NU-WRF model. It controls the model's atmospheric physics options, domain settings, and other simulation parameters. *ldt.config.prelis: LDT (Land Data Toolkit) configuration file for pre-processing input data for LIS. *ldt.config.postlis: LDT configuration file for post-processing LIS output. *lis.config.coldstart: LIS configuration file for the offline LIS spin-up run. *lis.config.wrf: LIS configuration file used to couple LIS with the NU-WRF model. It specifies the parameters and settings for the land surface model within the coupled system.
