Data sets for lineage differentiation in the cosmopolitan molluscan protozoan parasite Perkinsus olseni based on metabolic, molecular and morphological traits

Description

This dataset comprises data obtained from isolates of the protozoan parasite Perkinsus olseni, which infects marine mollusks, collected from Japan, Europe, and Oceania. Host-derived factors that trigger schizogonic proliferation, NTS sequences, and cell sizes at different life stages were examined. These data support the hypothesis that at least two distinct lineages exist within this species.
