Description

This dataset contains anonymized survey responses and objectively measured household water consumption data used in the study What Drives Household Water Use? Untangling the Roles of Environmental Orientations, Household Structure, and Everyday Routines. The dataset includes psychological measures (environmental orientations, connectedness to nature, and sustainability perceptions), household demographic characteristics, routine water-use practices, and 12-month household water consumption records. All personal identifiers have been removed to protect participant confidentiality.

Steps to reproduce

Data were collected through a cross-sectional household survey conducted in Türkiye. Participants completed a structured questionnaire assessing environmental orientations, connectedness to nature, sustainability perceptions, household characteristics, and routine water-use practices. Survey responses were matched with objectively measured household water consumption records obtained from monthly utility bills covering a 12-month period. Household-level variables were derived by aggregating individual responses where appropriate. Water consumption was calculated both as total household use and on a per-capita basis. Data were anonymized prior to analysis. Statistical analyses included descriptive statistics, correlation analyses, and multiple linear regression models to examine the relative contributions of psychological, structural, and routine-based factors to household water consumption.
