Sequencing Evidence of Pancreatic Microbiota
Description
This dataset contains the original data extraction table compiled for the systematic review entitled "Pancreatic Microbiota in Pancreatitis-Associated Intra-Abdominal Infection: A Systematic Review of Sequencing-Based Evidence." The dataset summarizes microbiological findings extracted from six published observational studies investigating pancreatic and peripancreatic infections in patients with pancreatitis-associated intra-abdominal infection (PA-IAI). It includes study-level information, patient characteristics, specimen types, conventional culture results, sequencing-based microbiological results (including metagenomic next-generation sequencing and 16S rRNA gene sequencing where applicable), identified microorganisms, sequencing platforms, and other microbiological characteristics reported in the original publications. The data were manually extracted from peer-reviewed articles according to a predefined protocol following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. No new clinical specimens, microbiological experiments, or sequencing analyses were generated by the authors. The dataset represents a curated compilation of published microbiological evidence used for qualitative evidence synthesis in the associated systematic review. This dataset is provided to enhance the transparency, reproducibility, and reusability of the review process. It may serve as a resource for future systematic reviews, methodological studies, comparative analyses of culture- and sequencing-based diagnostics, and investigations of pancreatic microbiota in severe acute pancreatitis and pancreatitis-associated intra-abdominal infection.
