Description

This dataset assembles local authority district (LAD)–year panel data linking population health to economic performance in England. It includes composite health outcome indices (HOI domains and factors) and, where applicable, health profile components (HPI), constructed from publicly available sources (OHID/PHOF, ONS). Inputs are standardized, domain factors are extracted using Principal Component Analysis (PCA), and cross-domain aggregation uses entropy weights. Economic outcomes (GVA, GDP, median weekly pay), employment (ER), and economic inactivity (EIR) are sourced from ONS/NOMIS. We provide code to reproduce factor construction and fixed-effects panel regressions reported in the manuscript, plus a WMCA (seven authorities) illustration of the Wider Determinants of Health indicator for 2019–2022.
