Seasonal export of total mercury from a monsoon-temperate glacierized catchment on the Tibetan Plateau, South Asia
Description
This dataset contains total mercury (THg), hydrochemical, hydrological, and hydroclimatic observations from the Hailuogou Glacier catchment on the southeastern Tibetan Plateau. The dataset supports the study “Seasonal export of total mercury from a monsoon-temperate glacierized catchment on the Tibetan Plateau, South Asia”. Seasonal observations were conducted over the main 2018 melt season from 22 May to 18 October at approximately 1–2-day intervals. Separate monthly 24 h surveys were conducted from June to October at approximately 4 h intervals to characterize within-day variability in THg and supporting hydrochemical variables. The dataset also includes the daily THg concentration reconstruction and derived THg flux and yield used to estimate catchment-scale Hg export. Samples from the monthly 24 h surveys were analyzed separately and were not used in the seasonal flux reconstruction. Variable definitions, units, data structure, and calculation details are provided in the accompanying README file.
