Bay of Bengal Mixed Layer Depth: Processed Reanalysis Cube, Driver Attribution, and Argo Validation Results (1996–2020)
Description
Derived datasets supporting a study of long-term mixed layer depth (MLD) variability and its physical drivers in the Bay of Bengal (5–23°N, 80–100°E), 1996–2020. Includes the merged 0.25° analysis cube built from ORAS5, ERA5, and DUACS altimetry; the long-format table used for driver attribution; trend, breakpoint, and EOF outputs; generalized linear model coefficients by sub-basin (north, central, south); and Argo-matched validation pairs (n = 26,205) with agreement statistics by region and season. Analysis code (Jupyter notebook and supporting Python scripts) is included for full reproducibility. This is processed and derived data. The primary reanalysis and observational products (ORAS5, ERA5, DUACS, Argo) are not redistributed here and should be cited and accessed from their original archives; DOIs are listed in the accompanying methods documentation.
