Data Documentation for "Remittances as a Shield: How Remittances Build Household Resilience Against Shocks in Bangladesh"
Description
This deposit documents the secondary data source used in the associated manuscript. Analysis is based on the Household Income and Expenditure Survey (HIES) 2016–17, conducted by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) with support from the World Bank and World Food Programme. Access to the household-level microdata is restricted by the data producer to World Bank use (see attached DDI metadata, dataAccs/useStmt). This deposit provides the survey methodology, variable definitions, and access-request pathway to enable verification of the study's methods.

Steps to reproduce
Household-level microdata for HIES 2016–17 can be requested from the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (https://bbs.gov.bd) or the World Bank Microdata Library. Variable construction and the binary logit model specification used in this study are detailed in the manuscript's Methods section (Section 3).
