Data Set for Perovskite Synthesis from Spent Cupels
Description
This dataset contains XRF, XRD, and UV-Vis data generated during the recovery of lead from spent fire-assay cupels and its subsequent use in the synthesis and characterisation of perovskite nanocrystals. The research hypothesized that lead-rich spent cupels could serve as a secondary source of lead for producing lead-containing precursors and perovskite nanomaterials. XRF data were used to determine the chemical composition of unspent and spent cupels and showed a substantial increase in lead content after the fire-assay process. XRD data were used to identify the crystalline phases of the cupel materials, regenerated lead oxide, and synthesised perovskite products. The regenerated lead oxide was predominantly identified as litharge, with massicot also present, while the synthesised products showed crystalline perovskite-related phases, including CsPbBr₃ and Cs₄PbBr₆ in some samples. UV-Vis data were used to evaluate the optical absorption characteristics of the synthesised nanocrystals. The XRF, XRD, and UV-Vis datasets provide complementary information on the chemical composition, crystalline structure, and optical properties of the materials. The data can be reused for phase identification, compositional analysis, comparison of samples, and further investigation of the structural and optical properties of lead-based perovskite materials. XRD data are provided as diffraction angle (2θ) and intensity values, while UV-Vis data contain wavelength and corresponding optical response values.

Steps to reproduce
The data were generated from experimental studies involving the recovery and regeneration of lead oxide from spent fire assay cupels, followed by the synthesis and characterization of perovskite nanocrystals. The recovered materials and synthesized products were subjected to laboratory analysis and characterization. X-ray diffraction (XRD) was used to determine the crystalline phases and structural properties, while X-ray fluorescence (XRF) was used to determine elemental composition. UV-Vis spectroscopy was used to evaluate the optical properties of the synthesized materials. The resulting measurements were recorded, processed and analyzed to obtain the experimental results presented in the dataset.
