This dataset contains data from a pilot study investigating the biopsychosocial, immunological, and oxidative stress-related correlates of depression in a Sri Lankan cohort. The dataset includes sociological and depression-related measures, serum inflammatory cytokine levels (IL-4 and IL-6), oxidative stress-related parameters, and serum cortisol levels. The data were collected to explore associations between depressive status, inflammatory cytokine balance, oxidative stress, cortisol levels, and selected sociological factors. The dataset may support further research into the biological and psychosocial characteristics of depression, particularly within South Asian populations.
