Description

The dataset investigates the role of sustainable supply chain practices in alleviating energy poverty in developing countries. It was collected through a structured survey targeting stakeholders, including supply chain managers, energy providers, policymakers, and community leaders, to explore the interplay between supply chain practices, community integration, and energy poverty alleviation. The data provides empirical insights into the implementation and sustainability of renewable energy systems, focusing on critical practices such as local sourcing, logistics efficiency, community engagement, and environmental sustainability. Key constructs were measured using a validated 5-point Likert scale and analyzed through Exploratory and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (EFA and CFA) to ensure reliability and validity. The study employs Necessary Condition Analysis (NCA) to identify essential supply chain practices that are indispensable for achieving effective energy access. The analysis highlights the minimum thresholds required for factors such as efficient logistics, regular maintenance, community involvement, and training programs to significantly impact energy poverty outcomes. The dataset’s findings have significant implications for policy and practice, offering a robust framework to guide investments in supply chain logistics, capacity building, and community integration. By emphasizing indispensable supply chain elements and identifying critical bottlenecks, the research provides a foundation for targeted strategies to enhance the delivery and sustainability of renewable energy systems in underserved regions. This study contributes to the growing literature on sustainable supply chains by providing actionable insights into their role as catalysts for energy poverty alleviation.

Steps to reproduce

1. Define Objectives and Frameworks Establish research goals focused on sustainable supply chain practices in energy poverty alleviation, grounded in Necessary Condition Theory (NCT) and Community-Integrated Supply Chain Theory (CISCT). 2. Design and Validate Questionnaire Adapt a structured survey from validated scales, ensuring alignment with theoretical constructs like logistics efficiency, community engagement, and maintenance. Validate through expert review, pilot testing, and reliability measures (Cronbach’s alpha > 0.7). 3. Identify Participants Use purposive sampling to target supply chain stakeholders in energy-poor regions, ensuring diverse and relevant representation. 4. Survey Administration Distribute the questionnaire via online and in-person methods, adhering to ethical standards, including informed consent and confidentiality. 5. Data Collection and Organization Compile responses systematically, structuring data for statistical analysis. 6. Factor and Validity Analyses Conduct Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) to confirm construct reliability and model fit (AVE > 0.5). 7. Necessary Condition Analysis (NCA) Apply NCA to identify indispensable supply chain practices using CE-FDH and CR-FDH ceiling techniques. 8. Threshold Analysis Determine minimum thresholds for critical practices influencing energy access outcomes. 9. Interpret and Validate Results Analyse findings in relation to theoretical frameworks and existing literature, ensuring robustness. 10. Document Data Structure and annotate the dataset, detailing variables, scales, and methodologies for transparency and reproducibility.
