Impact of digital economy on innovation and entrepreneurship: Evidence from China

This file outlines the process for replicating the econometric analysis presented in the study: Impact of digital economy on innovation and entrepreneurship: Evidence from China. Below is an explanation of the software, datasets, and code used. This folder contains the replication materials for the empirical analyses presented in the paper. It includes the dataset and Stata code used to reproduce the main results. The data that support the findings of this study are openly available in Mendeley Data at https://doi.org/10.17632/fh938xztc9.1, with the permanent digital object identifier (DOI): 10.17632/fh938xztc9.1. This folder, contains the complete replication materials for all empirical analyses presented in the main paper and appendix. The repository includes the full panel dataset used in the study, as well as fully annotated Stata do-files with detailed step-by-step explanations of the empirical estimation procedure, which can be used to reproduce all tables and figures reported in the paper.

Steps to reproduce

The replication folder contains 2 subfolders, which contain all materials necessary to replicate the tables and figures reported in the paper and appendix. The contents of each subfolder are as below.  Preprocessing.do: Place this do file and Raw.dta in the same folder to generate the analysis data required for this article.  Table_2.do: Place this do file and Analysis_data_Table2.dta in the same folder to reproduce Table 2 of the main text.  Table_3.do: Place this do file and Analysis_data_Table3&4.dta in the same folder to reproduce Table 3 of the main text.  Table_4.do: Place this do file and Analysis_data_Table3&4.dta in the same folder to reproduce Table 4 of the main text.  Table_5_6.do: Place this do file and Analysis_data_Table5&6.dta in the same folder to reproduce Table 5 and Table 6 of the main text.  Table_7.do: Place this do file and Analysis_data_Table7.dta in the same folder to reproduce Table 7 of the main text.  Table_8_9.do: Place this do file and Analysis_data_Table8&9.dta in the same folder to reproduce Table 8 and Table 9 of the main text.  Figure_2.do: Place this do file and Analysis_data_Table3&4.dta in the same folder to reproduce Figure 2 of the main text.  Appendix.do: Place the do file and Analysis_data_Appendix.dta file in the same folder to reproduce all tables in the appendix.  This subfolder contains all do-files used to produce the tables and figures reported in the main paper and appendix. The file name of each dofile corresponds to the table or figure number as reported in the paper and appendix.
