Description

This study examines the relationship between Taiwan’s exports of integrated circuits to China, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, and Japan and the economic policy uncertainty in these target countries. The Economic Policy Uncertainty (EPU) index developed by Baker et al. (2016) was used to measure economic policy uncertainty. Exports of electronic integrated circuits were examined based on the product group with the code HS 8542 in the International Customs Classification. The unit value index of Taiwanese exports of electronic integrated circuits was used to convert nominal export values into real values.
