Greenhouse Gas Fluxes and Nitrous Oxide Isotopocule Data from Agricultural Soil Incubation Experiments in Latvia
Description
This dataset contains gas flux measurements and nitrous oxide isotopocule data from controlled laboratory incubation experiments conducted on agricultural soils collected from 24 fields across Latvia. It includes flux measurements of nitrous oxide (N₂O), methane (CH₄), carbon dioxide (CO₂), and ammonia (NH₃), as well as measurements of the N₂O isotopic composition (δ¹⁵N, δ¹⁵Nα, δ¹⁵Nβ, δ¹⁵NSP, δ¹⁵Nbulk, and δ¹⁸O). The soil samples represent a range of farming systems (conventional and organic), soil types (clay, sandy, and organic soils), crops, tillage practices, and incubation conditions (aerobic and anaerobic). Measurements were performed using Picarro G2508 and G5131-i cavity ring-down spectroscopy analyzers. The dataset can support research on greenhouse gas emissions, nitrogen cycling, nitrification and denitrification, isotopic source partitioning, the effects of agricultural management practices, and nitrogen budget modelling.
