Integrated hourly soil, weather, energy, and LoRaWAN telemetry dataset from a solar-powered field monitoring system in Montería, Colombia (2025)
Description
This dataset contains hourly environmental, soil, energy, operational, and LoRaWAN telemetry records collected during a 2025 field deployment of a solar-powered IoT monitoring system in Montería, Córdoba, Colombia. The dataset was structured on a complete calendar grid of 8,760 expected hourly observations, preserving both successfully received transmissions and periods in which remote telemetry was unavailable. The records integrate soil measurements, environmental and hydroclimatic variables, battery and power-related information, communication indicators such as RSSI, SNR and transmission latency, operational events, maintenance information, and calibration records. Separate tables provide hourly and daily observations, IoT node records, calibration and field-event logs, monthly summaries, data-quality rules, and a variable-level data dictionary. The dataset supports reproducible research on agricultural Internet of Things (IoT) systems, LoRaWAN communication reliability, telemetry continuity, temporal feature engineering, and predictive modelling of communication interruptions. Missing remote transmissions are retained as explicit outcomes rather than removed during data cleaning, enabling analysis of system availability and future telemetry-risk patterns. The dataset represents the monitoring system and field conditions observed during the January–December 2025 campaign and should not be interpreted as evidence of causal mechanisms underlying individual communication failures.
