Description

This dataset contains the daily and monthly observations used to analyse differences between the COVID-19 period and the 2026 Strait of Hormuz disruption, with a focus on financial-market movements and inflation transmission in Bahrain. It includes oil prices, equity-market indicators, volatility, the US dollar, gold prices, and Bahrain consumer price indices, compiled from publicly available official sources including FRED, the World Bank, and Bahrain’s official data portal. The dataset contains no simulated or interpolated values and is structured to support replication of the matched event-window tests and monthly CPI pass-through regressions reported in the study.
