Description

This dataset contains all study-level positivity data of porcine circoviruses in mainland China, extracted epidemiological and subgroup information from the included studies, and the complete R scripts used for data processing, meta-analysis, subgroup analysis, sensitivity analysis, publication bias assessment, and meta-regression analyses. These files allow full transparency and reproducibility of the published study.

Steps to reproduce

Data were collected following PRISMA guidelines (Moher et al., 2015). A systematic search of Web of Science, PubMed, Wanfang, ScienceDirect, CNKI and VIP identified studies on porcine circovirus positivity in pigs in mainland China published up to 3 February 2026. Detailed database search strategies are provided in Table S1. Records were imported into EndNote X9 for duplicate removal, and studies were screened against predefined inclusion criteria (cross-sectional design; reporting of positivity with a sample size > 30 and the number of positive samples; raw data suitable for epidemiological analysis). Reviews, duplicate datasets, and reports lacking the required data were excluded. Discrepancies were resolved by discussion and consensus. No unpublished data or author contacts were included.
