A land surface phenology dataset for Central Asia derived from MODIS NIRv time series
Description
This dataset presents land surface phenology (LSP) information (2001-2023) across Central Asia with a spatial resolution of 0.05°. Time series of near-infrared reflectance of vegetation (NIRv) from MODIS daily nadir BRDF-adjusted surface reflectance data are employed for the retrieval of LSP metrics. The LSP metrics included in this dataset are as follows: 1. Date of the start of the growing season (SOS), estimated using the 20% seasonal amplitude of NIRv during the greenup period. 2. Date of the peak of NIRv during the growing season (POS). 3. Date of the end of the growing season (EOS), estimated using the 20% seasonal amplitude of NIRv during the senescence period. 4. The peak value of NIRv (NIRv_PEAK). 5. The minimum NIRv value on the left side of the growing cycle (NIRv_MINL). 6. The minimum NIRv value on the right side of the growing cycle (NIRv_MINR). 7. The mean NIRv during the growing season (NIRv_MEAN).
