Relationship of Six Minute Step Test with demographic, anthropometric and physiological variables in normal adults.
Description
Six minute Step Test (6MST) helps to access exercise capacity of an individual. The 6MST is a basic test in which the patient climbs and lowers in free cadence for six minutes. 77 individuals (36=Males, 41=Females) were recruited in the study. Demographic details and anthropometric characteristics were examined before the test. Familiarization sessions of the 6MST were given to the participants. Physiological variables were measured before and after the test. Positive correlation was found among Height, Heart Rate Pre, Oxygen saturation Pre, Oxygen Saturation Post with respect to Step Count. Negative correlation was found among Heart Rate Post, Heart Rate Maximum, Age, Weight, Waist Circumference, Hip Circumference, BMI, Waist-to-hip ratio.
