Description

This dataset focuses on the initial stage (2012–2017) of China's Certified Emission Reduction (CCER) mechanism. By systematically collating key information—including project type, afforestation scale, and projected carbon sequestration—from the Project Design Documents (PDDs) of CCER Forest Carbon Sequestration Projects, a standardized dataset containing 15 indicators has been constructed. The core data are sourced from publicly accessible PDDs validated by officially accredited Third-Party Entities through the Validation and Verification process. Covering critical information and carbon sequestration characteristics of forest carbon projects in China’s nascent national carbon market, this dataset serves as baseline data for researching the development of China’s carbon market. It can be directly used to evaluate the market scale and sequestration efficiency of China’s forest carbon projects, and integrated with other environmental and social datasets to enable in-depth analysis of regional sequestration performance.
