Description of the data and file structure * This dataset has one EXCEL. xlsx file with 21 sheets supporting the figures in the article. * Description of the treatment This dataset includes four forest types and three soil layers: coniferous forest (CF, 39yr), mixed forest (MF, 40yr), secondary evergreen broad-leaved forest (SF, 80yr), and old-growth forest (OF, >180yr); Surface soil (0-10, 10-20 cm), subsurface soil ( 20-40, 40-60 cm) ), and deep soil (60-80, 80-100 cm).
