Data for: Planting architecture dominates source–sink plasticity under contrasting water and nitrogen supply in camelina–legume intercrops
Description
This dataset supports the manuscript “Planting architecture dominates source–sink plasticity under contrasting water and nitrogen supply in camelina–legume intercrops,” submitted to Field Crops Research. The dataset contains 210 plot-level observations from a two-year split-plot field experiment conducted in 2023 and 2024, including irrigation regime, nitrogen level, planting architecture, dry-matter translocation, stem-reserve remobilization, harvest index and non-overlapping phenological traits. It also includes daily meteorological data from the Ardabil synoptic station (IRIMO station 40708) used to characterize the crop growing environment and construct the environmental-context figure. Variable dictionaries, factor definitions, source-weather records and reproducibility materials are included.

The primary analysis dataset contains 210 plot-level observations and the 35 retained response variables used in the manuscript. Mixed-effects models, planned contrasts, paired rainfed-to-irrigated log-response ratios, ASCA and exploratory pathway analyses were conducted as described in the manuscript. The daily weather dataset contains observations from 10 March to 16 July for the 2023 and 2024 growing seasons. The accompanying Python script reproduces the environmental-context figure from the weather and phenological summaries.
