Description

The decision to terminate resusictation in a pediatric code is a low-frequency, high-stakes decision that requires integrating discrete clinical factors with important influence from the social and familial context as well as provider-specific experiences, values, and beliefs. This study aims to identify the factors that clinician's prioritize in this decision-making..

Steps to reproduce

We created a Likert-scale survey using Qualtrics to compare the relative importance of various factors considered in the decision to end resuscitation in a pediatric code. Factors were selected using a combination of literature review and personal clinical experience. The survey was piloted at the author's home institution and was modified based on feedback prior to distribution via email listserv of pediatric critical care research consortium.
