Leah CostelloDescription
This dataset contains the raw data underlying the study of microplastic (MP) and heavy metal (HM) accumulation in olive ridley turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea) eggs from Pacific Panama. The dataset includes MP occurrence and characteristics recorded in freshly laid (FL) eggs collected at two nesting sites, Malena and La Marinera, as well as FL and unviable incubated eggs that failed to develop (InFtD) collected at Malena. It also includes concentrations of selected heavy metals and trace elements measured in Malena eggs using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). The dataset provides the underlying observations and measurements used for the statistical analyses and results presented in the associated manuscript.
