Sphingolipids are involved in numerous cellular processes in animals but we lack a systematic and comprehensive map of their tissue distribution. Using targeted lipidomics we provide here the quantitative and qualitative profile of 114 distinct sphingolipid molecular species across twenty-one murine tissues. Our results provide insight into the degree of variation as a function of sex and diet.
