Optimal Insemination Eligibility Period Supplemental Material

Description

Our objective was to develop a discrete, monthly Markov chain model to account for reproductive performance, semen type ( conventional vs. sexed and beef), heifer survival rate, and insemination eligibility period to assess economic performance, herd dynamics, and the optimal insemination eligibilty periods for representative herd scenarios. The supplemental data published provides the outputs for the representative herd scenarios modeled.
