Description
This single-center retrospective comparative cohort study evaluated whether suprapubic transverse specimen extraction with small-bites fascial closure was associated with a lower long-term risk of incisional hernia than midline extraction in patients undergoing elective laparoscopic colorectal cancer resection with intracorporeal anastomosis. Among 204 eligible patients treated between March 2019 and June 2023, the association was assessed using variable-ratio propensity score matching, weighted time-to-event analysis, and doubly robust sensitivity analysis. Incisional hernia was identified through clinical follow-up and routine oncological computed tomography surveillance.
