This dataset contains a structured summary of identified civil court decisions involving medical phototherapy across the United States and Canada from 1983 through 2025. Cases were retrieved from the LexisNexis database using predefined search terms (“phototherapy,” “PUVA,” “UVB,” “nb-UVB,” “excimer,” “photodynamic therapy”) cross-referenced with malpractice and dermatology-related keywords (“negligence,” “injury,” “burn,” “dermatologist”).
