Supplementary data and code for performance-based underground hydrogen storage screening under reservoir and infrastructure constraints
Description
This dataset provides supplementary reproducibility material for the manuscript entitled “A Performance-based Framework for Assessing Underground Hydrogen Storage Under Reservoir and Infrastructure Constraints: Application to Offshore Wind Curtailment Mitigation”. It includes anonymised reservoir-level input and output tables and a worked Python notebook. The notebook demonstrates the calculation sequence for an anonymised reservoir, including thermophysical property evaluation, pseudo-pressure integration, IPR/OPR construction, plateau-rate estimation, corrected reservoir-volume-based hydrogen inventory accounting, working/cushion gas calculation, and injectivity estimation. Version 1.2 updates the worked-example notebook and output table to reflect the corrected hydrogen inventory and working/cushion gas accounting. In this version, recoverable methane gas volume at standard conditions is converted to equivalent reservoir volume before estimating hydrogen inventory at reservoir pressure and temperature. Seasonal working capacity is therefore constrained by both 90-day deliverability and the inventory available under the imposed minimum cushion-to-working gas requirement.
