Description

The Indian Dried Red Chillies dataset contains 1080 high-resolution images of five popular Indian dried red chilli varieties—Kashmiri, Byadgi, Guntur, Lavangi, and Sankeshwari—captured using 50 MP smartphone cameras under natural daylight with plain white backgrounds. Designed for machine learning and computer vision applications in agriculture, the images support chilli variety classification, quality assessment, and spice grading. All images were manually verified for clarity, resized to a 1:1 aspect ratio with uniform resolution of 3000×3000 pixels, and saved in JPG format for uniformity. The dataset is organized into 10 folders based on chilli type and format (Single or Bulk), with files renamed systematically (e.g., GT_B_045.jpg). Sourced from real spice markets in Pune, Maharashtra, this dataset fills a gap in public agricultural datasets and serves as a valuable resource for researchers and developers working on AI solutions in digital farming and food technology.
