Mechanical response and flammability screening of hand-laid CFRP laminates with high ATH loading for prototype electric-vehicle bodywork
Description
This dataset contains the specimen-level experimental data supporting the mechanical results reported in the manuscript “Mechanical response and flammability screening of hand-laid CFRP laminates with high ATH loading for prototype electric-vehicle bodywork”. The study compares a reference carbon-fibre-reinforced epoxy laminate (C) with an ATH-filled configuration (AP), both manufactured by vacuum-free hand lay-up using the same CF245/CF600/CF600 carbon-fabric architecture. The AP formulation contained 50.0 wt.% aluminium trihydroxide (ATH) in the total uncured formulation, corresponding to a 1:1 mass ratio between the combined resin-hardener system and ATH (130 phr relative to neat resin). The dataset contains specimen-level numerical results from tensile testing at −40, +20, and +100 °C, unnotched Charpy impact testing, and apparent interlaminar shear strength (ILSS) testing. These data underlie the descriptive statistics, confidence intervals, statistical comparisons, and mechanical-property results reported in the manuscript. The data are provided to support transparency, reproducibility, and independent verification of the reported mechanical analyses. The C and AP laminates represent two realised manufacturing configurations; therefore, the dataset supports a configuration-level comparison rather than an isolated intrinsic effect of ATH.
