Description
Climate change has become a major global issue that influences the attitudes and behaviors of Generation Z. As a generation that connected with digital information and exposed environmental issues, Gen Z played an essential role in supporting sustainable practices and environmental conservation. This study aims to examine the effects of Climate Change Anxiety, Environmental Literacy, and Environmental Awareness on Environmental Pro-Behavior among Generation Z in Jakarta and Tangerang. This study employed a quantitative approach using primary data collected through an online questionnaire distributed via Google Forms, resulting in 211 valid responses obtained through convenience sampling. The data were analyzed using SmartPLS to evaluate the relationships among the proposed variables. The findings reveal that Environmental Awareness insignificantly influences Environmental Pro-Behavior. However, Climate Change Anxiety and Environmental Literacy positively and significantly affect Environmental Pro-Behavior. These results indicate that emotional concern regarding climate change and a strong understanding of environmental issues are more effective in encouraging pro-environmental actions than awareness alone. Therefore, educational institutions, communities, and policymakers are encouraged to strengthen environmental education, climate communication, and sustainability campaigns to transform environmental concerns into real pro-environmental actions among Generation Z.
