## Instructions to Replicators ### Software Requirements - **Stata** version 17 or 18 (results do not differ between versions) ### Required Stata Packages Run the following installation commands once in Stata before executing the do-file: ```stata * Standard SSC packages ssc install reghdfe, replace ssc install ivreghdfe, replace ssc install ftools, replace ssc install outreg2, replace ssc install estout, replace ssc install xtivreg2, replace ssc install ivreg2, replace ssc install ranktest, replace ssc install testex, replace * bartik_weight — follow installation instruction from Paul Goldsmith-Pinkham's GitHub (https://github.com/paulgp/bartik-weight) ``` > **Note:** `ivreghdfe` requires both `reghdfe` and `ftools`. If installation errors occur, install `ftools` first, then `reghdfe`, then `ivreghdfe`. --- ### Step-by-Step Replication Instructions 1. Download all files from the Mendeley Data repository and place them in a single folder on your computer. 2. Open merging_file.do in Stata to compile and merge all dataset. 2. Open `Emoney Paper_Final.do` in Stata to run all the regression in the study. 3. Run the do-file from top to bottom. All output files will be saved to the same folder. 4. Compare output to the paper. The `.doc` output files contain all regression results with coefficients, standard errors, and fit statistics matching those reported in the paper. The final formatted `.tex` table files are provided in `tables/` for side-by-side comparison.
