Description

The objectives of this study were to estimate the adoption rate of udder health and herd management practices based on a random sample of pasture-based dairy farms in Uruguay, and to determine their association with bulk tank somatic cell count and with partial costs of subclinical mastitis (yield losses and penalties). Farm Survey Instrument used to collect general farm information, data on milking routine, record keeping &targets, mastitis detection & treatments, recent cases & milk withheld from the bulk tank, milking equipment & maintenance, cow comfort, and dry-cow management.
